Vacuum extraction well under building
Geological cross-sections under the dry cleaning building with soil types.
Container with water and air treatment eqipment

The building where the cleaner earlier was situated has been unused for 10 years. It’s located at a site that was suitable for expansion of the community school. Instead of tearing the building down and excavate underlying soil a in situ remediation was implemented with vacuum extraction off soil under the building and groundwater was cleaned with pump and treat stripping and the treated water was reinjected. Stripped perchloroethylene was collected in a fixed adsorption bed steam regenerated approximately 2 times/month. The project was on going for 3 years and 5 000 kg of solvent was removed.
Vacuum extraction flow:   500 m3/h
Ground water flow:               4 m3/h
