Storage of gasoline is to certain extent done by rock storing. These can be made in several ways where one way is to use a floating bed where waters is used as filling agent and the gasoline flows on top of the water in a rock room. This way the rock room is air free.
The rock store is designed so no gasoline leaks to the surrounding but a small amount of groundwater is leaking into the rock store. This water must be cleaned and removed before emitted to a recipient.
The water that stands in direct contact with gasoline will be contaminated with small quantities of hydrocarbons dissolved in the water. The dissolved substances can easily be stripped of in a bubble phase reactor. The stripping air can be concentrated in a VOC-rotor and be catalytically oxidised. This gives a very economically and energy saving process.
